The new Live Website Testing block

Since we first introduced Live Website Testing in beta, we’ve been amazed by the response from those of you who have used it in your research. So many of you jumped on the chance to try it out and shared invaluable feedback with our team. Thank you to all the early customers who helped us refine this feature during the beta period. Thanks to your enthusiasm (and some incredible usage stats!), Live Website Testing has officially graduated from beta and found a new home as a separate block in the Wondering study builder.

In short: you asked, and we listened. The Live Website Testing feature quickly became one of the most popular parts of our platform. Until now, you had to set up a website test through a standard Message block – it worked, but wasn’t the most convenient way to run these tests. By giving Live Website Testing its own block, we’ve made it simpler to find and use. Now when you open the study builder, you’ll see a dedicated Live Website Testing block ready to be dropped into your study. Just plug in the URL of any site or page you want feedback on, and you’re off and running!

We haven’t just moved things around – we’ve made them smarter too. Our AI-powered study builder has been updated to create even better Live Website Tests based on real user research best practices. In practice, this means you can now generate a comprehensive live website test by simply describing what you want to learn and letting Wondering’s AI handle the rest. It will automatically include a Live Website Testing block (or multiple, if needed) along with follow-up questions tailored to your goals.

Here’s how it works:

Tell Wondering what you want to learn. In the study builder, write a quick sentence or two about what you’re trying to find out from your site. For example, “I want to see if users understand our pricing page.”
Let the AI build your study. Wondering’s AI will instantly generate a draft study for you. It will include a Live Website Testing block with your provided URL, plus relevant tasks and questions (for instance, asking participants to complete a task on your site and then answer a few follow-ups about their experience).
Review, tweak, and launch. You’re in control – adjust any of the AI-generated questions or tasks as needed. Once it looks good, launch your study to start collecting feedback from real users.

This smarter study builder ensures that even if you’re not a research expert, you can run effective live website tests that yield meaningful insights. It’s like having a user research co-pilot guiding you through best practices as you build your study.
