Why Wondering is shutting down When we started Wondering in 2020, the user-research landscape looked very different. Over the past five years, AI-powered research tools (including Wondering) have started to change how teams gather and analyze qualitative insights. We set out to build a category-defining company around the idea that generative AI helps researchers do more with less, automating parts of qualitative research with AI-moderated studies and AI-powered analysis.
Despite our best efforts, we haven’t grown revenue fast enough to continue operating or to raise further external funding. As a result, we’re shutting down Wondering on the 23rd of September 2025.
We know this is disappointing news, especially after you placed your trust in us as your AI-moderated research platform. We’re deeply grateful to our early customers and investors. Thank you for taking a chance on a new product. I’m sorry we can’t keep providing Wondering and build the AI-moderated research platform you were hoping for.
What is happening to Wondering, the product? Wondering will be shut down on September 23, 2025 . Please download your data before that date to retain access.
What happens to my data? All user data will be deleted when the service shuts down on September 23, 2025 . We will not retain user data after that date.
How do I download my data? To download data for individual studies, go to https://app.wondering.com/all-studies
Next to each study, click Export to download a ZIP file containing that study’s data.
If your study includes media (e.g., video recordings), the ZIP will contain links to those files. These links auto-expire after 7 days. To keep each video, open those links within 7 days and download the files from our Amazon Web Services storage.
To export all data for your workspace in one go, go to https://app.wondering.com/account/general Export workspace .
