Generate tailored AI findings with filters

Our new filters feature lets you control exactly which responses are included in Wondering’s AI-generated thematic analysis, so you drill deeper into your data.

We built filters because we heard from you that you wanted more powerful tools for uncovering insights that relate to subsets of your responses. You told us you sometimes needed to separate feedback from different user groups or ignore irrelevant responses to get even more meaningful insights. Now, filters make that easy.

How to refine your AI analysis with filters

Here’s how the new filters in your Ai analysis works:

Open your study results and set a filter. On your study’s results page, you’ll find a new Refine findings button:

Click it and and add a filter, choosing which responses you’d like to include in your analysis. Filters currently support filtering out participants based on their responses to Choose and Rate blocks:

Apply the filter and generate your findings: Once you’ve set your desired filters, click Generate findings with filters, and Wondering’s AI will re-analyze your data considering only those filtered responses. You can switch filters or turn them off anytime to view different slices of your data.

Filters let you refine your AI analysis based on participants' Rate and Choose-block responses. Here are some examples of how you might use them:

Segment responses by satisfaction levels: If you included a Rate question like “How easy or difficult was it to choose a plan?”, you can filter responses based on ratings. Want to see what people who found it difficult had to say? Apply a filter to view only those who selected a lower rating. Curious about what delighted users liked most? Filter for higher ratings to see their feedback in isolation. This helps you understand what’s working and what’s frustrating users, so you can improve their experience.
Compare perspectives across response choices: Say your study included a Choose question such as “Which of the following statements do you think would be true?” (select all that apply). Filters allow you to isolate participants who selected a specific response option. For example, if some respondents agreed with “I would recommend this to a friend” while others didn’t, you can filter each group separately to see what themes emerge in their feedback. This makes it easier to spot differences in sentiment or experience.
