Over the past year, we’ve worked together with many of you to understand how you use our AI analysis in your work to speed up your decision making. We’ve also listened to what part of the analysis process you can’t yet automate with Wondering’s AI, such as thematic analysis.
Today, we’ve updated Wondering’s AI Analysis capabilities to help you automatically apply highlights to your response data from interviews, prototype tests, live website tests and surveys. We then analyze each of these highlights to uncover thematic groups, before further synthesizing this data into actionable findings to help you interpret what’s important in your response data.
With our new AI-powered thematic analysis, you can now see the big picture, identify recurring patterns, and understand the key takeaways from what your participants are saying really fast.
How Wondering’s AI thematic analysis works Our new thematic analysis uses our purpose-trained AI to detect patterns and categorize your data into clusters, making it easy to see the main themes within your research. This approach takes your raw feedback and organizes it in a way that highlights the most relevant ideas, quotes and recurring topics, saving you time on manual tagging your data. Here’s a quick overview of the process:
Step 1: Automatic tagging and cluster your response data Our AI identifies and automatically highlights parts of your response data, such as specific quotes. Each highlight is automatically associated with a tag, which can be used one or many times to create highlights across your responses. This creates clusters of small individual pieces of evidence that can then be further analyzed to identify more meaningful themes and insights.
Step 2: Generating high-level findings After your response data has been tagged, our AI analyzes the data in these clusters and your study to generates high-level findings . Each finding includes a concise summary, a description, and supporting quotes that are the evidence behind that finding.
These findings allow you to quickly grasp the key insights from your study, helping you make informed decisions much faster and share relevant data with your team. Simply put, we turn the complex response data you’ve collected in your studies into clear, digestible insights that you can use to inspire action.
How your work will change with AI-automated thematic analysis We know that analyzing qualitative data can be time-intensive and, sometimes, a bit overwhelming. You told us that manually organizing and identifying themes across large data sets took too much time—time that could be better spent on strategy and decision-making. That’s why we developed AI-powered thematic analysis: to automate the repetitive parts of analysis , letting you focus on interpreting and implementing the insights.
With Wondering’s thematic analysis, you can quickly get a sense of what’s driving participant feedback without hours of manual coding. This, we’ve heard, is meaningful to all those of you who are trying to gather feedback from your customers to better understand how you can improve your products and services.
